What Our Customers Have to Say

Vivian is amazing, very professional and respectful of the diverse needs of the client! Appreciated her consult and understanding of the different cultures – she went above and beyond to meet our needs, made herself available to us at odd hours. Have Vivian train your staff. Felt very well taken care of: informed, comforted and put at ease with all my decisions. Felt she had my back in dealing with others and supported my choices.

My father passed away from metastatic pancreatic cancer, a horrible, debilitating disease. I was stressed out and in shock. I couldn’t comprehend what I have to do or where to call. Imre made an appointment for me with Social Services. When a priest needed a deep dish for a service, Imre not just found it but gave me a choice. Those small things make a huge difference. I spoke to my friends who could not attend and I highly recommended York Funeral Centre, especially Imre – with deepest gratitude.

I was very hurt by the death of my brother, and Adam took extra time to make sure that I felt comfortable and that it was a smooth process. The whole service was beautiful and it was set up exactly how I wanted it to be. We appreciated the sympathy from the woman who helped Adam and everyone was so kind in helping us.

Dear Ms Lee: I wanted to take this opportunity to acknowledge the service excellence of Adam. Back in September, we lost our father after a prolonged battle with COPD. The last few months of his life were particularly difficult and emotionally draining on the entire family. I provide these details because it is important to understand our frame of mind when we approached your organisation for the burial service. Watching a loved one deteriorate before your eyes, having to explain a Do Not Resuscitate order to your father along with a plan of action for end of life make a person extremely battle weary and to some degree, emotionally bankrupt. And for these reasons, I along with my brother felt compelled to send a heart-felt note of thanks to Adam for his empathy, compassion and commitment to service excellence. From the moment we met him right through to the final thank-you given to the pallbearers, he demonstrated a level of service excellence that we have not witnessed in a very long time. As a matter of fact, his attention to detail, coupled with a very polished and sincere delivery, made an impression on quite a few people in attendance. In my opinion, Adam is the epitome of genuine client care. He had a very short period of time to make a positive impression under very difficult circumstances and he far exceeded our expectations. I hope you will take a minute to acknowledge Adam and his overall professionalism. He’s a very thoughtful and sincere young man, and we are very grateful that he was the person chosen to look after us.

My brother and friends who had attended were so impressed and have stated that they intend to use York Funeral Centre when needed. We were also impressed when we attended funerals there on three prior occasions. Just continue to maintain your obvious high quality service. Full marks to your organisation. Suzanne allowed me to be with my wife on the morning of my birthday prior to cremation. The attendant upon placing her body in the van stepped back and bowed respectfully, my family and I were very moved. I was also very pleased that the body bag and the van were a nice pristine white.

I found it absolutely amazing that Imre was Hungarian and able to provide and suggest some stuff pertaining to our heritage. And then to get the priest from St. Elizabeth’s was also great. I don’t remember much from that day as I was completely numb and devastated, but I do remember the priest and he was very comforting. Imre thank you very much for all the help/suggestions, service at all hours. You went above and beyond. You made the worst day of my life somewhat bearable. This profession is lucky to have someone who truly cares about his job and the feelings of others.

I was greatly impressed by the professionalism and caring attitude of Linda Lee, Manager, Funeral Operations. She explained everything clearly and gave her honest opinions on various options we can consider, also Daisy, Service Co-ordinator who answered our questions and guided us through the planning process. A heart felt thanks to both Linda and Daisy for their expertise and candid advice.
