Columbarium

Designed with several small compartments, called niches, a columbarium is a freestanding structure placed either inside a building, or outdoors.

Niches

A niche is a small compartment designed to hold urns containing cremated remains. Niches come in four types (note: not all types are available for all columbariums):

• Single niches, designed to hold one urn

• Double niches, designed to hold two urns side-by-side

• Family niches, which can hold multiple urns

Niche fronts can be made of either marble, wood, bronze, or glass.
