Connie Sugiyama

Constance “Connie” Sugiyama is president of ConMark Strategy Inc., where she provides strategy advice and solutions to the public and private sectors and draws upon her extensive experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions law. Currently, Connie serves on the boards of the Ontario Financing Authority, the Toronto International Film Festival Group and the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement. Her governance experience includes Hospital for Sick Children (chair), Canada Health Infoway (vice-chair), The Nikko Securities Co. Canada Ltd., The Japan Society, Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, Ontario Trillium Foundation, Ontario Exports Inc., Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, and Women in Capital Markets. Connie has also served on the Securities Advisory Committee of the Ontario Securities Commission and as a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Ryerson University. She is a Member of the Order of Canada and in 2015, received an honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of Western Ontario.

Connie has been a member of the board since 2015 and is chair of the Governance & Human Resources Committee.
